Action Inquiry

As co-convener of the Compass Network, the SDC will be running a pilot action inquiry group starting in March. This group offers UK Compass Network members the opportunity to meet face to face at regular, facilitated workshops, to support each other in exploring key challenges in their work as sustainable development communicators.

What is Action Inquiry?
An action inquiry group is a democratic learning space where members provide support and challenge by working through particular aspects of their own, and others', professional practice. The inquiry process is founded on cycles of action and reflection.

Group members agree the question they want to consider together eg. 'How can I work better with my non-comms colleagues?' They try different approaches to answering that question at work, then reflect on and share what they've learnt, both alone, and with the group.

It also provides an opportunity to shine a light on areas such as diversity, power and organisational culture, important and challenging issues that affect our work but often get brushed under the carpet.
