On Oct 20, 2007, H. Lee Scott, Wal-Mart’s CEO, stood in front of his supply chain’s CEOs and senior corporate officers. Essentially he said, "Sustainability is not a fad, it’s a long term global trend that Wal-Mart is committed to, so if you are looking for end cap position in Wal-Mart stores or eye level position on our shelves you'll have to align your products and your supply chain practices with Wal-Mart's "Live Better" sustainability objectives. Few pronouncements have shaken American business like this one. Increasingly, communication supply chain professionals will be faced with the same challenge from a widening array of companies as they bid for business in the years ahead. It's a green show about green media, by global thought-leaders.
